Product Description
The Resin Section Slide Press is specifically engineered to work in concert with glass microscope slides, chemical slide adhesives, and a laboratory grade oven to enhance section adherence of thin resin sections. Its dual function design allows the user to firmly exert even pressure across the broad face of slide mounted sections, while also acting as a “heat sink” when placed inside an oven at 55-60C. This allows for flattened section adherence to the glass slides, via heat activation of the slide adhesive, and for all slide sections to dry uniformly throughout. It features a 2 chamber open construction design, allowing for convenient slide insertion from either side, with each chamber capable of holding 40 standard thickness slides (80 slides per press). It also utilizes high grade heat resistant rubber pads to protect against slide breakage during initial slide compression and expansion due to heat. Additionally, it comes available in two models that fit standard 1” x 3” and 2” x 3” glass microscope slides. The Resin Section Slide Press reduces time spent waiting for sections to dry and adhere, providing a completely reproducible and effective method for mounting thin resin sections to glass slides without section loss or morphology distortion throughout special staining procedures.
