Combine DHM's MacNeal's Tetrachrome stain as a counterstain to DHM's Von Kossa staining kit and not only do you get a stark contrast between mineralized bone (black) and the formation of new bone (osteoid - grayish), but it also demonstrates osteoblasts, osteoclasts, osteocytes, blood vessels, RBC's, fat cell membranes, macrophages, chondrocytes, cartilage, etc. in the same section! It's the new H&E for undemineralized bone!
